Our traditional education program is designed to provide a comprehensive and balanced early education that prepares children for future academic challenges. Developmental Areas Addressed:

GROSS MOTOR SKILLS

What it does:

At this age, children begin to gain control over their movements, coordination, and balance. They explore various ways to move their bodies, using muscles in their arms, legs, head, and torso. Activities focus on developing skills such as jumping, alternating feet when climbing stairs, kicking a ball, walking steadily, climbing, and carrying objects independently.

FINE MOTOR SKILLS

What it does:

Activities aim to develop coordination and control of small muscles in the hands, fingers, wrists, and eye-hand coordination, which are crucial for future writing skills. Children engage in activities like spontaneous scribbling, building with blocks of three or more pieces, clapping, turning pages of a book, attempting puzzles, and using a paintbrush for painting.

LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION

What it does:

Using materials ranging from picture cards to books, we nurture early literacy habits, expand vocabulary, and enhance comprehension and communication skills with peers, teachers, and caregivers. Children develop foundational literacy skills, including saying and responding to their name, repeating words, speaking in sentences with 10-20 words, learning new words weekly in both English and Spanish, starting to string words together, naming images in books, and using verbs.

COGNITIVE AND SOCIO-EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT

What it does:

The program fosters children's security, independence, and socio-emotional skills essential for their future. Cognitive activities include focusing on tasks appropriate for their age, identifying their name and age, following one or two-step instructions, adhering to simple routines, and understanding and following basic safety rules inside and outside the classroom. Socio-emotionally, children learn empathy, affection towards peers, recognizing their own and others' emotions, engaging in cooperative play, showing interest in materials, and using them purposefully.
