At Framboyant Learning Center, our philosophy is based on the principles of community, respect, and responsibility. The Orange Program provides high-quality, student-centered instruction, supporting each child's development in social-emotional skills, language, pre-writing, reading, math, and science. We focus on socialization, fine and gross motor skills, creative expression, and autonomy in education—key factors in building self-esteem and a sense of achievement.
Developmental Areas Addressed:
Fine and gross motor skills are crucial for a child's development and independence, impacting learning across all areas. We offer numerous opportunities within our environment to help students develop small muscle control and hand-eye coordination through age-appropriate activities and play. These experiences support the development of gross motor skills as well
Through the program "Behind the Little Red Door," our students learn to express their feelings while enhancing their creativity and imagination. These skills are vital for a child's development, helping them understand the world, develop socially and emotionally, and build critical thinking skills.
The Language and Communication areas encourage the development of cognitive and early literacy skills, including phonemic awareness. We use a variety of materials and techniques to enhance listening, writing, speaking, and reading skills.
The Reading area focuses on building comprehension, language, and listening skills, stimulating imagination, and expanding understanding of the world. The Orange Reading Program emphasizes five components: phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. At this level, children recognize, name, and write all 26 letters of the alphabet, read and spell word families (e.g., -at, -am, -an, -ap etc.), and read 30-40 high-frequency sight words.
Pre-writing skills are developed through programs like "Handwriting Without Tears" and Graphomotor workbook. These activities include drawing vertical, horizontal, and zigzag lines, writing letters (especially those in their names), and recognizing upper and lower case letters. This foundation supports the transition from scribbling to forming letters and numbers.
The Math area aims to develop number awareness and help students understand mathematical concepts related to numbers and quantities.
The Orange Group focuses on:
The Science area fosters natural curiosity about the world around them, with environmental awareness as one of our main goals. In the Orange Group program, students develop science skills in physical science, Earth/Space science, and life science. These skills include observation, asking questions, communicating, classifying, measuring, experimenting, and predicting.
Developing independence is a key part of our program. Children learn to follow routines such as unpacking their lunch, hanging up sweaters, and cleaning up after themselves. These activities build confidence, responsibility, and self-reliance. Encouragement and praise are given for effort and creativity, fostering a sense of accomplishment even if tasks are not completed perfectly.
